The much anticipated kitchen reveal is finally here! I started this journey back in April and thought that it would only take a month or so. I was totally wrong. Here we are four months later and the kitchen is finally done! This has been some of the longest four months of my life, I swear. From having no celling to getting excited when I finally had a working sink. I’m not going to sugar coat it this was extremely tough for me. I had no motivation to cook or clean because my house was always in such a disarray. I mean just look at how crazy my kitchen use to look…
At this point my contractor had already started before I could even take good before pictures. Ha! The life of a blogger! But he had gone ahead and ripped down all of my upper cabinets and took away my ceiling. The upper cabinets matched the lower cabinets and were a dark grey that I painted them when I originally moved into my house.
I am a big foodie and the kitchen is my happy place so I knew that in the end it would be completely worth it. Now that the kitchen is finally done I never want to leave, and I have been enjoying cooking so much. The new cabinets, and counters have added so much brightness to a once very dark kitchen. I must also mention that remodeling my kitchen was such a big accomplishment for me because I had been saving money for so long. I worked my butt off to get to the point were I could purchase the kitchen including all of the different elements including backsplash, new floors etc.
If I have to tell you one thing about doing a remodel it is to always , always have extra money saved up because you will go over your budget. But in the end it is completely worth it! My kitchen is now everything that I ever envisioned and wanted. Honestly, if you look at my Pinterest board of kitchen ideas I bet you would find an almost identical kitchen.
My goals for my kitchen were to brighten it up because before there was poor lighting and it felt very small. I wanted to go with light colors throughout the kitchen to help make it feel more spacious. The same exact layout now feels so much bigger because of the light colors. Some of my favorite new features of my kitchen include the farmers sink and the wine rack. I guess this can now be an excuse to buy even more bottles of wine! Am I right?
Now time for side by side photos to really showcase how different the kitchen looks! I mean I seriosuly wouldn’t even know where to start, it looks completely different.
The space looks completely different and I could not be happier with the end product. There were a lot of disasters that happened with this renovation but in the end I think it was completely worth it. I hope you all love this renovation of my kitchen as much as I do!
