Motivation runs low at times. Especially when you are juggling so many things on your plate like school, work, and a life. I know it sounds crazy but we are all so busy running around to a million places at once. Sometimes you need to just take a step back from your own life and breathe. Staying motivated to keep going can be hard but I know you can do it! Here are a couple of ways that can help you keep that motivation going…
Make a To-Do List for Yourself
Doing this has changed my life. I know it may sound crazy that writing down a to-do list has changed my life. But being able to write down what you need to accomplish for your day, and being able to check it off when you completed is a rewarding feeling. It also helps you see what goals you have for yourself that day.
Be Positive about the Way You Speak
This can mean in the way you speak to others and to yourself. Being negative is not going to help you stay motivated. Even if you are feeling really down try to find the best of the situation and use that to keep a positive mindset about whatever it is. I promise you that this will make a huge difference in your motivation.
Celebrate All of Your Accomplishments
A way to help keep yourself motivated is when you accomplish one of your goals is to treat yourself. It doesn’t have to be anything like a crazy expensive shopping spree. But maybe pick up your favorite flowers, or even picking up your favorite take-out food. Just a little way to make yourself feel good about your accomplishments.
Plan Times to Hang Out with Friends or Family
This is a time that you can detox and destress from anything and everything. It is important when you are working on achieving your goals that you make time to just breathe. Being surrounded by people you care about will also help keep you in a positive mindset making you want to accomplish your goals.
Take Care of Yourself
Make sure to not get too caught up in everything you have going on. This really has to do with your mental health and well being. Take time every day to just focus on yourself. Some of my personal suggestions are to have five minutes of mindfulness, journaling, meditating, working out and the list can go on forever. Doing this will help you center yourself and make you feel rejuvenated.
Write Down All Your Due Dates in Your Agenda
Doing this will help you stay on task with everything. I carry my agenda with me basically everywhere I go. Any appointments I have or assignments go in there right away. This way you are not forgetting when something is due. Having one place for this can also help so that you don’t have your assignments in one place and your appointments in a completely different place. Also, there are some super adorable agendas you can buy, and who can turn down a cute notebook? I know I can’t!
Prioritizing is MAJOR! Work on whatever you have due first by doing this it will help to cut back on your stress. Making the to-do list can also help with this. For me, I always prioritize my to-do list. I write the most important thing for me to get done that day on the top. This way I have a running list of all the important things that I need to do.
I know that life can get super crazy and tiring. By doing some of these things it will help make sure you do not get burnt out. Motivation is super essential and sometimes can run low. I hope that with all that you do you stay motivated. You got this girl!
