Over the past few months, I have been loving the look of a full coverage foundation. You may or may not know that I use to struggle with pretty severe acne that has left beyond some pretty brutal acne scars. I have tried a ton of different ways to help clear them but they are still present. The best thing that I have found is to wear a full coverage foundation to help cover them. I have also tried a ton of different foundations to find the one that provides the most amount of coverage while also being long wearing and not look cakey. I mean it is definitely hard to find a foundation that checks all the boxes. But I have finally done it and just had to share my amazing routine with you babes.
First thing is first you need to start by creating a flawless base. I have been able to put together products that work amazingly together to create that flawless base and to help extend the life of your makeup.
I ALWAYS start by using a sunscreen (even if it is cloudy)! Sunscreen is so important to be putting on your skin to help protect from the UV rays. I personally have been loving the Avene Hydrating Sunscreen. It is great because it has 50 SPF and is for every skin type.
I then follow up by using a corrective serum. I have been using the Stila One Step Correct, which is a blend of green, lavender, and peach tones to target different areas of your skin. They work together to neutralize, tone and brighten your skin. This product makes your skin glowy and gorgeous.
I then follow up by using a Mattifying Primer to help my foundation last even longer. The one that I have been loving lately is by the brand Models Own which is exclusive to Ulta. Their Mattifying Primer works wonders and creates a smooth base.
Now time for the foundation! I have found the perfect drugstore foundation that provides full-coverage without making your face look cakey. The Maybelline Super Stay Full Coverage Foundation is incredible. One layer of this foundation covers all of my dark spots and acne scars. What is also amazing is this foundation is long wearing and does not crease. I don’t know if you have struggled with foundations going into your fine lines but this one does not settle into any of my lines even my laugh lines! I highly recommend that you try this foundation and I mean you can’t beat the price. I personally apply my foundation with a beauty blender because I feel that it gives the most flawless application.
I then like to go in with a concealer to highlight and conceal my dark circles. I have been obsessing over the Tarte Shape Tape for months. Honestly, I think that this may or may not be my fourth bottle of it. If you have not had the chance to try this concealer out I highly recommend you try it. This concealer does not crease, is long-lasting, blends well and does not make your under eyes look heavy.
I then like to go in and set everything to make sure that none of the liquid foundation or concealer is not going to move around. I have been obsessing over Airspun Translucent Powder. This provides extra coverage while also locking in all of your other products. This powder is super affordable it can be a little hard to find in store though. So if you are interested in checking it out I recommend ordering it online.
The last and final step is to finish your foundation with a setting spray. This is another product that will ensure that your foundation is not moving. I have been using the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray for as long as I can remember. This spray helps my skin look glowy and stay on for the whole day without any shine.
If you are like me and love a full-coverage foundation that is long-wearing, lightweight, and makes your skin glow then you need to try out this routine. I have done all the trying and testing for you babes and I guarantee that this routine will make your skin look gorgeous. If you are not looking for a full-coverage foundation you can opt for a lighter coverage foundation. But if you follow these steps your foundation will look flawless and last you the entire day.
XOXO,
Sarah Elizsabeth
